MY STORY
I'm a freelance writer and editor, formerly focusing on content relating to Eastern Europe but now covering art and culture (with a touch of travel) across the world. I also dabble in news, monitoring and writing on the Russia-Ukraine war for The Associated Press. Outlets I have written for recently include Apollo, ArtReview, Canvas, Euronews, The Guardian and The Telegraph, though I'm always looking to work with new outlets.
I worked for three years as a media development specialist, tackling disinformation and supporting a number of online, TV, print and radio outlets in the UK and across the Baltic States as part of an FCDO project.
I can offer SEO/SMO help and translation from French, Russian and Spanish to English (other Slavic languages at a push!). My previous experience includes time on staff as News Editor at The Calvert Journal from 2015-2017 and Commissioning Editor at Culture Trip from 2018-2020.
I have a BA in Modern and Medieval Languages (a silly title for a degree in French and Russian with a touch of Ukrainian and Dutch) from the University of Cambridge (Queens' College, 2014) and an MA in Digital Media, Communications and Journalism from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2019). My thesis research was on media consumption and identity formation among the Russian diaspora.
