I never know whether to say I'm a journalist, writer, editor, copywriter or reporter... let's go for any and all of those? Also a media development specialist and SEO consultant, if that's your kind of thing.

My particular passion has been for content relating to Russia and Eastern Europe (my BA was partly in Russian, and I have worked in Russia and Ukraine), but I can get enthusiastic about more or less any worthwhile story – and in recent years I've broadened the geographical scope of my work considerably (notably lots in the Middle East). In the last three years or so, my work has taken in news (particularly the Russia/Ukraine war), investigations, arts, culture and travel, but I also write for charities and commercial organisations.
